The Catherine McAuley Scholarship serves as an aid opportunity for students in Iowa to receive a college education and other benefits, catering to individuals who may not have had access to necessary resources on their own.
Problem:
In the fall of 2022, Mount Mercy had 9 students under this scholarship. To bolster the financial support directed towards the university, it was imperative to increase the number of students enrolled in this program.
Strategy:
A campaign to be launched during the 22-23 school year with the aim of raising awareness about the scholarship and encouraging current Jr/Sr high school students to apply.
Plan:
*Create testimonials in the form of articles and videos featuring current Mount Mercy Catherine McAuley scholars, showcasing how the program has positively impacted their college careers and lives.
*Develop a dedicated landing page on the website to facilitate user engagement.
*identify and target the desired audience effectively.
Creative:
organizing, recording, interviewing, and editing videos, as well as photographing students. Additionally, it encompassed designing ads, assisting in ad copy creation, and executing ad campaigns.
Targeted Audience:
The campaign primarily targeted current high school students (ages 16-19) and parents/caretakers of high school students (ages 35-60+).
Platforms:
The campaign was deployed across various platforms including the university's webpage, social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, as well as through traditional marketing materials.
Campaign Duration:
September 2022 to June 2023.
Campaign Budget:
$10,000.
Results:
The digital campaign achieved the following metrics:
- 7,000 ad clicks
- 1.55 million impressions
- 288,000 reaches
By fall of 2023, 30 students were attending Mount Mercy under the Catherine McAuley Scholarship!!
